LPC were asked to review a proposed automated storage and handling system for an internet retailer for their new facility and to look at alternative solutions and assist with developing the business case for a solution to support their planned growth.
Based on the storage and throughput requirements in their growth plan, LPC looked at the whole picture taking into account the non-automated operations and all the facilities required in a new DC to confirm the size of the facility and produce budget costings. Alternative options were developed based on other automated options including AMR and plans and budget costs prepared for those. Potential suppliers were identified.
